I had something less than 15 minutes of fame tday. I made the "The News Virginian" today. I was interviewed by Cleve Wiese yesterday. There were two or three lines of my interview in the paper, but nothing about the trail.
Maybe you should have been like the resident going to the city pool everyday to cool down. Well, at least for a one day break. With the heat index at 110 degrees, that's pretty HOT.
For anyone interested in what the Newspaper Article said: First it talked about a resident taking her kids to the pool to deal with the heat. Then, the reporter said: Neither option is available to backpaker Joe Peterlin, 44, from Cleveland, Ohio, who was passing through Waynesboro on Friday on his way up the Appalachian Trail. "This is definitely the hottest it has been yet," said Peterlin, who started his trek April 8 in Georgia. "You just drink lots of water and slow down a little bit."
